The Beauty of a Saa’ of Water

🌷 Assalamu alaykum, beautiful moms! 🌷

Don’t you ever pause and ponder how our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) accomplished so much in his life with so much simplicity? 💭 Today, let’s delve into an intriguing aspect of his life – the beauty of a saa’ to take a bath. As our role model, what he taught us about personal hygiene and simplicity can significantly lighten our burden and make motherhood a tad bit easier.

A Journey into A Saa’ 🌊

If you’re thinking, “What’s a Saa’?🤔,” you’re not alone. A Saa’ is an old Arabian volume measure, approximately equivalent to 2.75 liters or 0.72 gallons. Can you believe that our Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) managed to freshen up with just this amount of water?

Narrated Aboo Ja’far: While I and my father were with Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullaah (radiyallaahu anh), some people were with him and they asked him about taking a bath. He replied, “A Saa’ of water is sufficient for you.” A man said, “A Saa’ is not sufficient for me.” Jaabir said, “A Saa’ was sufficient for one who had more hair than you and better than you (meaning the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)).”

This simplicity can be our guiding star, reminding us of the beauty of a Saa and to not be wasteful, even in our personal care routines.💡

Finding Contentment in Simplicity ⏳

Our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) used to pour water three times on his head. It’s all about efficiency and moderation, even when it comes to water use. If he could achieve cleanliness and refreshment with such minimal use, why can’t we? It’s a beautiful example of sustainability.💧

An insightful quote by the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery says, “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” 💖 These words align with the practices of our Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam). (Not that we need a French writer to add credibility to our Prophet’s (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).)

From History to Our Homes 🏡

I know, lovely moms, as you juggle the responsibilities of work, home, and kids, it may seem nearly impossible to worry about water usage. But trust me, embracing simplicity and efficiency not only can help us fulfill our Islamic duties but can also lead to less stress.

Do you know that, on average, a 10-minute shower uses about 20 gallons (75.7 liters) of water? Imagine how much we could conserve by trying to adopt the Prophet’s (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) practice! Not to mention the savings on water bills!💰

One way to use lesser water is to reduce the number of products that are used and need to be washed away. You can also get a shower timer to keep track of how long you spend in the shower. 5-10 min is all you need.

The Beauty of a Saa’ for Our Little Ones 👶

Let’s bring these practices into the lives of our little ones. Teaching our children the significance of a Saa’ and the wisdom behind the Prophet’s (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) actions can inculcate in them a sense of responsibility towards their environment and a profound respect for our Islamic traditions.

“Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.” This quote by C.S. Lewis captures the essence of our role as mothers.💕

Conclusion: Standing Together, Embracing Simplicity ✨

Let’s strive to keep our lives simple and our hearts content, just like our Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam). This world can often seem overwhelming, especially when the responsibility of nurturing future generations rests on our shoulders. Yet, with the Prophet’s (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) guidance, we can navigate these waters with ease and grace.💞 The prophetic tradition of water conservation is a halal license to make our kids’ showers quicker and less elaborate.

Remember, lovely moms, we’re all in this together! Let’s draw inspiration from each other and from the simplicity of our Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam). With each Saa’ we save, we contribute to our planet and to a better future for our little ones.🌍🌳

I hope this blog post has been an enlightening read. May Allah guide us all to tread the path of simplicity and moderation as shown by our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Qur’an 13:28) 💖🤲

Until next time, assalamu alaykum, beautiful moms.✨
