Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) drew a line for us [in the dirt] and said, ‘This is the path of Allaah.’ Then he drew other lines branching off to the right and to the left and said, ‘These are the paths at the end of which is a devil calling people to it.’ Then he recited: ‘This is my straight path, so follow it and do not follow the [other] paths, for they will separate you from His path.’
Being a Muslim mom isn’t just about feeding and clothing our children. It’s also about showing them Allaah’s path and how to stay on it. Our role includes guiding them away from the multitude of distracting paths that lead them astray. 💪
The Gift of Unity 🤝
Mu‘aawiyah ibn Abee Sufyaan (radiyallahu anh) once warned about divisions in faith. He cited from the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) about how the People of the Book split into many sects. As Muslim moms, we must instill in our children the importance of unity and the beauty of our ummah (community). 🌍💖
Invitation to Goodness 📜
When the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) sent Mu‘aath ibn Jabal (radiyallahu anh) to Yemen, what did he instruct him? He instructed him to first invite people to the oneness of Allaah, then the importance of prayers, and then the obligation of charity. We can take this as a lesson to educate our children about these crucial pillars of Islam, starting from the oneness of Allaah. 🕌
Embracing Gratitude and Righteousness 💚
Emphasize the importance of being thankful and choosing the right path. Instill the love of Allaah and righteousness in your child’s heart, just as in the story of the two young men in prison with Yusuf (alayhis salam). He taught them about the worshipping Allaah Alone and also about the Grace of Allaah to humankind. 🙌
The Beauty of Worship 🤲
“I have not created the Jinn and Mankind except to worship Me.”, Allah has said in the Quraan.
Make your children understand the beauty of worship and the importance of believing in Allaah. It’s important to create an environment where our children feel comfortable asking questions about their faith and find joy in worship. 😌🕌
Honoring the Creator 💫
Even the kuffaar of those days – “If you were to ask them who created the heavens and earth, they would most certainly say: ‘the Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them’”
Help your children appreciate the marvels of Allaah’s creations. Showing them the beauty of the world around them can be a wonderful way to foster their understanding about the Creator. 🌳🌼🌟
The Singular Focus of Worship
Allaah has said, “Verily! I am Allaah, none has right to be worshipped except Me, so worship Me.”
Teach your children that there’s no deity worthy of worship except Allaah. Instilling this belief early in their hearts ensures a lifetime of faith and devotion. 🕋💖At least you’d have done what you had to do and Allaah will take care of the rest.
